I got a request to draw a special golf kart. One that can jump and do wheelies!
Bam! Here you go...
Ron: To make this golf cart cool... I looked at the parts a person might see if the front end is up. (doing a wheelie). It seems there are some good opportunities to customize the suspension.
Question: How is it built? What modifications did you suggest?
Ron: As you can see in the drawing, I would remove the nose cover, and refurbish the front axle weldment (Front Axle Weldment Part No. 618-00002)
Question: So how to do get it to jump or do a wheelie?
Ron: I suggested shifting the battery weight to past the rear axle. This way it may lift the front end when accelerating... I guess would have to try it.
Question: So did they build it?
Ron: Heck Yeah! They built it? Check out this wheelie! Just Kidding... this is a shot from under, when the hydraulics are up.
Question: Hydraulics?! The Cart has Hydraulics?
Ron: Yes Hydraulics... This is the result, a little different from the drawing. Just as fun. The point is to get some fun attention to Electric Vehicles.
Question: Who is driving the Cart? And what is the "Kick Gas Car Club"?
Ron: This is Mr.Q (Abran Quevedo). I was lucky enough to have Mr.Q as a teacher back in the summer of 2008. He runs a class on how to convert a car to electric drive. In that class, we converted a modern VW beetle to all electric drive. Now the class is operated through a group he formed called the "Kick Gas Car Club".
Question: If I want to take a class or visit... How do I get in touch?
Ron: http://kickgasclub.org/
